WA publisher profile : Hesperian Press

A major publisher of Western Australian history is Hesperian Press. The publisher is based in Carlisle, just out of Perth. According to its website :

Hesperian Press has been publishing Real Australian Books since 1969 when its principal, Peter Bridge, first published technical material. The current program commenced in 1979 and Hesperian now has a book list of more than 300 titles, with up to 20 works in progress at any time.

An example of one of the important books on Hesperian Press’s list is the publication of a facisimile version of J.S. Battye’s Cyclopedia of Western Australia. This seminal two volume work was originally published in 1912-1913. It is an excellent source for information about Western Australia up until this date.
