Irish 1901 census now online

Today sees the release of the 1901 census for Ireland which is available free on the National Archives of Ireland website. This complements the 1911 census which has been available since 2007. The two censuses are particularly important for tracing Irish ancestors because they are the first two complete surviving censuses for Ireland.
