To what extent is the profession in Australia going to be able to face the challenge of demographic change and the predicted shortage of, and competition for, skilled labour? Associate Professor Gillian Hallam discussed key findings from the neXus research project on the 22 November 2007. The project aims to develop a better understanding of the current library and information services workforce in Australia.
A panel of representatives from University, Public and State library sectors, Library Schools and Generation Y discussed their experiences, observations and ideas for the future with audience participation.
You can view the powerpoint presentation and listen to the audio recordings of both the presentation and panel and audience discussions from the SLWA website.
