Did you know that the National Archives has recently added thousands more names to its index to passengers arriving in Western Australia? The passenger index now covers the period 1 January 1921 to 15 January 1950 and includes over 800,000 names.
To search the database, go to the National Archives website, select Record Search and, after logging in or electing to search as a guest user, choose Passenger index. As well as passengers arriving by ship in Fremantle and other WA ports, you can search for people who arrived at Perth airport between 1944 and 1950. Information given includes the passenger’s name, ports of embarkation and disembarkation, ship or aircraft name and date of arrival.
